<li><strong>News: </strong>The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission Tuesday<a href="http://tracksideview.org/racetrack-reports/kentucky-commission-oks-arabian-race-at-keeneland-in-october/" target="_blank"> approved a proposal for a race this October at Keeneland Racetrack with Arabian horses sponsored by the Emirates Equestrian Federation</a>.  The proposal, offered by Keeneland Association officials, is designed to attract further international attention to Kentucky and the horse industry during the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games.</li>

With 60 countries expressing an interest in attending, the World Games 2010 Foundation anticipates as many as 800 athletes could compete. Final entries and individuals will be named in August.</li>

<li><strong>News: </strong><a href="http://americashorsedaily.com/nrbc-2010-open/" target="_blank">Craig Schmersal rode his stallion Boom Shernic to win the 2010 National Reining Breeders Classic </a>last weekend in a tightly fought final in Katy, Texas.   His score of 228 was half a point ahead of the two second place finishers, former WEG champion and 2010 radioshow guest, Shawn Flarida who rode Wimpys Little Chic, and Jordan Larson on Stop Like a Dream.</li>
<li><strong>News:<a href="http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/fei-approves-strict-warm-rules-dressage-competition" target="_blank"> </a></strong><a href="http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/fei-approves-strict-warm-rules-dressage-competition" target="_blank">The FEI Bureau has given it&#8217;s unanimous approval to new Stewards&#8217; </a>guidelines on warm-up techniques produced by the Working Group formed after the round table conference held in Lausanne, Switzerland in February.   These new guidelines will be implemented on 15th May this year.</li>

Garrod, whose efforts over the past 40 years have been instrumental to the recognition, growth and continued high standards of the sport of equestrian vaulting. At the same event, the Annual Trainer of the Year award was presented to Patti Skipton of Warm Beach Vaulters in Washington.</li>

<li><strong>News: </strong><a href="http://chronofhorse.com/article/study-estimates-167-million-economic-benefit-kentucky-alltech-fei-world-equestrian-games" target="_blank">A new study by Dr Paul Coomes, Professor of Economics at the University of Louisville</a> shows an increase in projected economic benefit for the State of Kentucky which stands to gain in the region of $167 million.</li>
<li><strong>News: </strong><a href="http://yosemite.epa.gov/opa/admpress.nsf/0/BB0548355415619A852576F500640EC5" target="_blank">The Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, joined the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, or KIA, </a>last week in a ceremony at the Kentucky Horse Park,to recognise a $1.95 million project funded in part through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.</li>
<li><strong>News: </strong><a href="http://chronofhorse.com/article/yellow-cab-get-new-look-2010-alltech-fei-world-equestrian-games" target="_blank">Four taxis from Yellow Cab Company will show their support for the Alltech FEI 2010 WEG, </a>on the streets of Lexington, starting this month. Yellow Cab will be wrapping four cabs with the Alltech FEI 2010 WEG logo, and in addition, each cab will have a special ID number to represent the Games.</li>
<li><strong>News: </strong><a href="http://reiner.nrha.com/?p=1877" target="_blank">We have some news from the National Reining Horse Association about the High Roller Reining Classic to Benefit Equestrian Aid Foundation i</a>n Las Vegas in September.  800 top national and international horses and 2,000 riders will compete in this &#8220;AA&#8221; rated event, with over $150,000 in added money and prizes.  A select few will come directly from there to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington for the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games, to represent the US in the toughest international reining competition in the world.</li>

<li><strong>News: </strong>Three Canadian Para-Equestrians were <a href="http://www.hunterjumpernews.com/?p=11338" target="_blank">recently selected as torchbearers for the 2010 Paralympic Games</a>.</li>
<li><strong>News: </strong>Rolex Legend Bruce Davidson <a href="http://brucedavidsoneventing.blogspot.com/2010/03/little-bump-in-road.html" target="_blank">will not be riding at the Three Day Event this year due to recent back surgery</a>, but has  not ruled out a comeback in time for the Alltech FEI 2010 World  Equestrian Games, and many of the WEG hopeful eventers were out in force  this weekend at Poplar Place and Southern Pines.</li>
<li><strong>News: </strong>On Friday, 5,000 Kentucky schoolchildren c<a href="http://carriageassociation.wordpress.com/2010/03/22/weg-demos/" target="_blank">ame to the KY Horse Park’s new indoor arena to see demonstrations of the sports being featured in this year’s World Equestrian Games</a>.   The driving demonstration was provided by the folks at the Gayla Driving Center in Georgetown, KY, with Sterling Graburn driving a four-in-hand team of Hackney Ponies.  Here is the video Glenn spoke about.</li>
